Main Lake

This is a specimen lake mainly stocked with Carp, up to 40lb. Popular for 24hr tickets. Mainly for pleasure anglers.

Christmas Tree Lake

Our second specimen lake with good numbers of BIG fish. Current record for this lake is 32.5 lbs. Other species to be found include Tench to 4.0 lbs, Bream to 5lbs and good numbers of Roach. There is a substantial island with many features and most seem to fish to this. Again it is worth fishing the margins as they remain largely ignored.

Pittance Lake

A lovely little lake adjoining Christmas Tree. Set down under the prevailing wind it is as popular in the winter as it is in the summer. Also a popular lake with those wishing to have smaller matches for up to 18 anglers.

Oak Tree Lake

A lovely little lake set amongst the Oak trees and largely sheltered from the weather. Fishing is from the bank.

Cherry Tree Lake

Always popular with those seeking to catch a specimen Perch the record for which is over 5 lbs. Big carp are also plentiful and the lake is always popular with the day ticket anglers. Fishing is from the bank.

Top Lake

Very popular with match anglers and pleasure fishermen alike. Fished really well last season with match weights reaching 190 lbs. There are a couple of monster carp in here that were held for breeding in a small adjoining lake. In 2013 work was carried out to include the small lake into Top lake and with it the big fish. Rather like the Loch Ness monster they have been seen but never caught! Fishing is from platforms. Match fishing for up to 24.

Old Lake

The original coarse fishing lake built in the late 70s and much extended since. Situated in the heart of the complex and ideally located for the Café. Well stocked with carp it is popular with both match anglers and day tickets alike. Fishing is from platforms. Match fishing for up to 25.

New Lake

Built in the 1980s and dredged and restocked in 2011 this lake is now fishing really well. There is a good cross section of Common and Mirror Carp to 15 lbs as well as some lovely F1s and Crucians. Fishing is from platforms. Match fishing for up to 20.

John's Match Lake

Built primarily to hold large matches (45 comfortably) the lake is stocked with both carp (to 15 lbs) and Bream and silver fish to try to ensure there is a good fishing year round. Match weights have grown steadily and now may be expected to exceed 100 lbs on a regular basis.

Horseshoe Lake

This is a popular lake within the 24 hour angler as it offers a small lake with a good head of carp to 30 lbs. F1’s and crucians are also much in evidence and its location next to the cafe makes this a popular year round location. Fishing is from platforms. Match fishing up to 18.

Rules

Specimen lake rules

  • You must be in possession of a Carp Mat or Cradle when fishing Horseshoe, Main or Christmas tree lakes.

  • Minimum 42' landing net for Horseshoe, Main and Christmas Tree.

  • Please take all your rubbish home or use bins provided.

  • When taking photos of fish the fish must be kept low to the ground no standing up.

  • No loud music to be played on site at any time only radios on low are permitted. Please be considerate to other anglers.

  • Please treat fish with respect and enjoy your fishing!

  • Dogs are allowed on site but please clear up after them. They must be kept on a lead.

Match Rules

  • No floating baits

  • Barbless Hooks only

  • No wadding you must fish from designated platform with all Seatbox legs on the platform

  • 16m pole limit

  • Keepnets must be laid out until 15 minutes before the start of the match.

  • Johns lake 4 Keepnets one for Bream and F1s, remaining 3 split your fish. All other match lakes three nets and split your fish

Competitions

Throughout the year we run open matches on a Wednesday and Sunday. We host and run other fishing events too, including the final for Fish South, this is the largest commercial based competition in the South with a £10,000 1st place prize!
